Story So Far
A forest ranger encountered poachers in the Ashenveil dragging a small silver-furred creature with faintly glowing silver eyes, and the creature appeared to look directly at the ranger through the canopy. A hidden archer in the trees above the clearing shot the hammer man through the shoulder, then fired a tight cluster that disarmed the lead man and the third man, leaving the third man clutching his forearm and backing away while the creature remained still and kept its gaze on the archer. The lead man shouted that they held permits from the Durn council before an arrow struck him in the chest; he collapsed against a birch and did not rise, and the third man fled crashing away to the northeast. With three men down and one still audible retreating northeast, the archer climbed down from the tree and stood on the moss beside the scorched rope net, where the small pale silver-furred creature waited inside in silence and watched.
