Vaesen

Vaesen is a Nordic horror investigation RPG set in a mythical 19th-century Scandinavia, published by Free League Publishing in 2020. Player characters are members of the Society - people who possess the Sight, the rare ability to perceive the magical creatures called Vaesen that are invisible to ordinary folk. Each session is a mystery: investigate strange events in rural communities, uncover the Vaesen responsible, and perform the Rite required to resolve the conflict. The game uses a d6 dice pool system derived from the Year Zero Engine, emphasizing investigation, folklore, and the fragile line between the mundane and the supernatural.
